Couples & Relationship Counselling
The romantic relationship with our partner is one of the closest and most important relationships in our life. For most of us, this relationship is rarely smooth sailing and filled with twists and turns. When this relationship begins to falter, our happiness and health often suffers.
Couples counselling, which is closely related to relationship counselling, is a form of therapy that seeks to improve communication, resolve emotional issues and re-negotiate commitments within an intimate relationship. While couples counselling is focused on romantic connections, relationship counselling can extend beyond romantic relationships to family relationships, friendships and work relationships.
In some cases, couples counselling is considered a “last resort” to save a relationship/marriage. Many couples engage in therapy sessions as a way to keep their relationship healthy or to address latent concerns that may emerge as conflict in the future.
