Our Core Team
Today’s world is about pairing expertise in multiple domains and through diverse configurations. PY and TT are both excellent example of people whose skills are an amalgam of creative and critical thinking as both are holders of degrees that are synonymous with creative output: TT has a marketing degree while PY has a design degree; yet both are also well-versed in the critical and analytical fields of the world as they both hold a Masters of Business Administration and post-graduate masters in the educational field. In many ways, this coupling of left- and right-brain skills that PY and TT have so successfully navigated in their own educational and professional development is at the core of their philosophy for Meta-Oasis. It is thus their belief that by founding this lifespan management facility for people to harness potential from both hemispheres of the brain, they are paving the way for these individuals to excel in their future academic and professional careers.
PY was educated in mechanical engineering and industrial/product design. To live up to the passion of life-long learning, PY broadened his knowledge-base by following his belief in “uncovering one’s potential and beyond” through learning. His Master of Business Administration, Master of Education Psychology and Master of Counselling have been fundamental to his success in roles that led him to take on a variety of responsibilities. These including leading product design and research programmes for companies such as Phillips and Hewlett-Packard, formulating government policy and strategies not only in promoting Creative Industries as director of this division for the Government of Singapore, but also in the design and development of a professional training program at the Institute for Adult Learning, a governmental agency in Singapore, and leading education programmes as Assistant Professor at the School of Design at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Sharing the same belief in “uncovering one’s potential and beyond” through learning, TT brought to the team her education in computer science, marketing and Master of Business Administration from the US. Being a full-time working mother of her gifted child, TT’s parenting experience elicited her curiosity concerning how children learn. She went on to enrich her knowledge in a Master of Early Childhood Education program and ran her own learning centre to put learning theories into practice.
